El paraiso de los peces rana - Frogfish paradise

Llevo poco más de una semana buceando en la isla de San Vicente, en Cabo Verde. Me entristece ver que la pesca masiva ha reducido la posibilidad de ver algunas especies, pero a diferencia de hace dos años, el número de tipos de peces rana va en aumento. Creo que sólo en un punto de buceo no hemos visto uno, probablemente porque es una inmersión en la que el azul tiene todo el protagonismo, en el resto es muy fácil encontrarte con varios, incluso juntos. Blancos, verdes, rosas, negros, pequeños, grandes (incluso uno gigante - siento que la foto no sea buena),... es una auténtica locura. Algunas de las fotos que dejo en el post, son de la misma inmersión.

Creo que ya lo he dicho en más de una ocasión, si amas el pez rana, no hace falta ir al Océano Índico, a 6 horas de Madrid tienes una gran variedad.

I have been a little more than a week diving in San Vicente island, in Cape Vert. I am deeply sad of seeing how the massive fishing is decreasing the possibility of seeing some fishes, but on the other hand, the kinds of frog-fish is increasing. I think that only in one spot we did not see them, probably because it was a dive for looking at the blue, but in all others it is really easy to find them, even together. Whites, greens, pinks, blacks, smalls, big (even the giant one! - sorry that the photo is not good)... It is madness! Some of the photos of this post are from the same dive.

I think I have already said in other moments, but if you love the frogfish, there is no need to go to the Indic Ocean, there are many types to 6 hours flight.

Una gran nocturna - A great night dive

Ya en varias ocasiones he comentado que me encanta el Cantábrico, después de dos semanas de buceo estupendo, vuelvo a decirlo. Pero hace unos días pudimos hacer una inmersión nocturna en la isla de Mouro, y desde luego ya me han enamorado estos fondos.

De la cantidad de bancos de peces que hemos visto ya hablaré en otro post. En este me centraré en los 75 minutos que estuvimos disfrutando del festival de cabrachos cenando, pulpos, gambas, langostas, sepias, cangrejos, centollos, ¿qué más puedo contar? Pues mejor dejar unas cuantas fotos.

Cuando terminamos, la superficie nos recibió con un intenso granizo, pero no consiguió quitarnos la euforia de una gran noche! Buceo Pedreña, como siempre un placer bucear con vosotros!

In several occasions I have said that I really like the Cantabrian Sea, but after two weeks of great diving, I have to say it again. But a few days ago, we could make a night dive in Mouro Island, and for sure I have fell in love with its underwater.

I will write another post about the huge amount of fishes that we have seen. In this one I will be focused in the 75 minutes we enjoyed in the festival of scorpion fishes dining, octopuses, prawns, lobsters, cuttlefishes, crabs, spider crabs, ... what else can I say? It will be better to show some photos.

When we finished, the surfase welcomed us with intenses hailstones, but they could not take us the euphoria of a great night! Buceo Pedreña, as always it has been a great pleasure diving with you!

De nuevo en Cabo de Palos - Cabo de Palos again

Creo que una de las cosas más difíciles para mí de estar parada es no poder bucear tanto como me gustaría. Pero este fin de semana, ha merecido tanto la pena, que lo he olvidado todo.

La primavera, la sangre altera. Y el mar se viste de gala. Y parece que en Cabo de Palos todo se multiplica. Los meros, los espetones, los abadejos... Bueno, un festival de vida acuática. Pero no sólo el azul, las pocas veces que miraba a las rocas, me sorprendía la cantidad de nudibranquios y flabelinas recién nacidos que veía. La temporada promete!!

Gracias a todos los que habéis seguido leyendo y conociendo este blog. A partir de ahora, espero poder actualizar con nuevas inmersiones. Ah, y gracias al Centro de Buceo Mangamar y en especial a Salva por guiarnos en estas inmersiones tan estupendas!!


One of the most difficult parts of being unemployed is that I can not dive as often as I'd like. But last weekend, has been so good, that I forgot everything else.

There is an Spanish saying: "The spring, blood alters", referring to humans, but the sea is altered too, and is dressed for a party. And in Cape Palos, everything multiplies itself. Groupers, barracudas... It is a party of aquatic life. But not only in the blue of the sea, the few occasions I looked at the rocks, I was very surprised with so many nudibranches early born. This season is going to be so good!
