Otra ronda de nudibranquios - another round of nudibranches

I do not expect many clicks on my page today, I am not payingo for the word BLACKFRIDAY, and I do not offer any special discount. But I do offer a look to one of my favourite critter, the nudibranches. Powerful colors, very slow movements, they are the perfect shot for macro photography. I love them all!! All photos are from our last trip to the Philippines.

We are planning our next diving destination, and the nerves of warming engines start!! Have a great weekend.

Las pequeñas cosas de la vida - The small things on life

After more than a year, finally I could get back to diving trips. Summer I have been focused on teaching diving courses, so pleasure and UW photography has been delayed. I just returned from a trip to the Philippines, and the hard disk is full of new photos.

I got back to my Sony Nex, and in fact I used more than ever the 30mm super macro lens, because Asia is the paradise of the small things. It is needed a very good eye, or a good guide, or serenity on your diving, to be able to find all the small critters. I believe this trip we had a mix of these three conditions, and I would like to share with you.

Unfortunately, we found the underwater very damaged from our last visit. One big reason has to be so many divers at the same time in each spot. This situation made me think about the lack of interest in so many divers about their bouyancy. It is true that it is hard for an open water student to make the hovering exercise perfect on his first days as a diver, but this activity requires a continuous training, and if you are not able to control it, it is better to keep you away from the corals. And even when I sound very radical, if you have not a good bouyancy, do not use video or photo cameras underwater.

Here you have some shots, I promise to update more often. Have a great day!
