Pasión por los nudibranquios 2 - Passion for nudibranches 2

Aunque todavía tengo que exprimir el libro de Steven Fish del uso de Final Cut para vídeo subacuático, adelanto un vídeo de las vacaciones de este verano. La mayoría de las tomas son del Parque Nacional de Bunaken, que me cautivó con la gran diversidad de especies. Y, sobre todo lo demás, mis queridos nudibranquios.

I need to squeeze the book by Steven Fish about the use of Final Cut for underwater videos, but even so I advance a video of last holidays of this summer.

Most of the cuts are from Bunaken National Park. I was captivated by the biodiversity. And over all other, my dear nudibranches.

Pasión por los nudibranquios – Passion for nudibranches.

No me gustan los caracoles. Ni las babosas. Pero cuando en una inmersión veo un nudibranquio, el corazón se me acelera.

No se si es por la fragilidad que aparentan, o por lo despacito que se mueven y el escaso mes que suelen vivir, o por sus vivos colores, pero cuando veo uno, no puedo evitar pararme a contemplarlos.

Durante nuestras vacaciones en Lembeh y Bunaken, tuve la oportunidad de ver mil y un tipos. Aquí os dejo unos ejemplos.

Ya no queda nada para el fin de semana, y esta vez yo buceo. ¡Ojalá vea algún nudibranquio!













I do not like snails. Neither slugs. But when I see a nudibranch on a dive immersion, my heart beats stronger.

Do not know if it's the fragility they seem, or for how slowly they move, and the poor month they used to live, or their bright colors, but when I see one, I can not help but watch them.

During our vacation in Lembeh and Bunaken, I had the opportunity of seeing a thousand and one types. Here you have some examples.

La importancia del decorado - The importance of the set

Las inmersiones de este verano en Lembeh y en Siladen me han dejado una extensa pasarela de bichos raros, como os contaba hace unos días, y tiempo habrá para irlos presentando uno a uno.

Sin embargo, una cosa me queda clara, y sigue sorprendiéndome en cada inmersión. Y es la importancia del decorado, de los tapices que recubren las paredes del fondo del mar.

Cuando reviso las fotos tras las inmersiones, mi compañero de buceo siempre me dice, otra foto de tus brócolis. Esos son los corales blandos en nuestra jerga, pero es que hay infinidad de vida que hace del entorno algo único.

Así que el post de hoy va dedicado a esos detalles de las paredes tan ricas, no solo de este destino, sino de cualquier inmersión que puedes disfrutar. Ya seréis conscientes de mi ignorancia para identificar especies, pero más vale una imagen que mil palabras, no?









Dives in Lembeh and Siladen this summer have left me an extensive gateway of critters, as I told you a few days ago, and there will be time for presenting them one by one.

However, one thing is clear to me and continues to amaze me on every dive. It is the importance of the set, the tapestries lining the walls of the underwater.

When I review the photos after a dive, my buddy always says, "another picture of your broccoli". These are soft corals on our slang, but there's a myriad of life that makes the environment unique.

So today's post is dedicated to those rich details of the walls, not only in this location, but any dive you can enjoy. You will be aware of my ignorance to identify species after all my posts, but a picture is better than a thousand words, right?

Quién es más grande? - Who is bigger?

Hola de nuevo! Después de casi dos meses, estoy de vuelta tras una boda y una hermosa luna de miel.

En las próximas semanas, compartiré con vosotros el testimonio gráfico de este viaje.
El primer destino fue Lembeh, paraíso de la fotografía macro.

La sala de cámaras y la cubeta para endulzarlas era un auténtica pasarela de los mejores modelos de carcasa, focos, flashes y complementos.

Entiendo que muchas de las especies de la zona sean altamente venenosas. Si yo fuera un pequeño bicho escondido en la arena, y llega alguna de estas cámaras, también lo sería, de alguna forma me tendría que defender de las sesiones de bronceado gratuito de los focos.

Hi again! After almost two months, I'm back after a wedding and a beautiful honeymoon.

In the coming weeks, I will share with you the graphic testimony of this trip.
The first destination was Lembeh, macro photography paradise.

The cameras room, and the tub for washing them was a real gateway of the best models of housing, lights, flashes and accessories.

I can understand why many of the species in the area are highly poisonous. If I were a little critter hidden in the sand, and see in front of me one of these cameras, I have to defend me from the free tanning sessions with the lights.

Here you have a sample of this situation in the photo with two divers and the critter under the flashes.

¡¡Necesito un arrecife!! - I need a reef!!

El ser una buceadora a tiempo completo de corazón tiene el problema de que a veces el día a día "de superficie" te deja completamente agotada.

Estos últimos días han sido realmente agotadores, y pensaba en esas inmersiones en las que quizás has estado luchando con una corriente y al final de la inmersión, subes para hacer la parada a un arrecife tranquilo, lleno de pececitos de colores y haces las últimas fotos antes de subir al barco.

La verdad es que necesito arrecife, sería estupendo tener uno en los últimos minutos en la oficina, antes de apagar el ordenador. No me quejo, pero estoy contando ya los minutos que me quedan para buscar uno real. Por ahora, me conformo con recordar las paradas a 5 metros que hice en Filipinas hace unos meses. Aquí os dejo unas instantáneas.

Being a full time diver by heart, has the problem that sometimes your day by day "on the surface" leaves you completely empty.

These last days have been really exhausting, and I have been thinking on those dives when you are fighting with the current and at the end of the dive, for the safety stop you ascend to the top of the reef, peaceful, full of little fishes and you take the last photos before getting to the boat.

I have to confess I really need a reef, it would be great to have one for the last minutes before switching of the computer. I am not complaining, but I am counting the minutes for searching a real one. For now, it is enough with remembering the safety stops I made in Philippines a few months ago. Here you have some photos.

Instantáneas de Cantabria

Los días previos a la boda se me están haciendo un pelín complicados, y apenas tengo tiempo para actualizar el blog. Os pido disculpas. Creo que está resultando bastante obvio que la boda será en Cantabria, porque últimamente estoy dedicando muchos post al norte de España.

Ya lo he dicho muchas veces, pero el Cantábrico me resulta un mar muy divertido, y además es una oportunidad de ver una gran variedad de vida.

Hace una semana, de nuevo estuvimos buceando con Buceo Pedreña, la verdad es que no hubo mucha suerte con la visibilidad, pero a pesar del mar de fondo tuve oportunidad de tomar alguna instantánea curiosa. Aquí os las dejo. Mi favorita es la del gobio, estos peces me tienen cautivada. Tienen una gran habilidad para posar delante del fotógrafo, y su variedad de colores hace que las fotos salgan estupendas.

The days before the wedding are making a little complicated to update frequently. I think it is becoming quite obvious that the wedding will be in Cantabria, because lately I am spending many post in northern Spain.

I've said many times, but I find a sea of Cantabria fun, and it's an opportunity to see a variety of life.

A week ago, again we were diving with Buceo Pedreña, the truth is that we were not very lucky with the visibility, but despite the swell had a chance to take a snapshot curious. Here I leave you some. My favorite is the goby, these fish have captivated me. They have a great ability to pose in front of the photographer, and their variety of colors make the pictures come out great.

Cantabria, o el vaivén del mar

Hoy os dejo un vídeo que hice el mes pasado en Santander. Quise que fuera obvio el vaivén del mar de fondo que tuvimos. Me gusta ese vaivén, y me resulta muy divertido ver cómo los peces también tienen problemas para mantener su dirección contra el ritmo que impone el mar.

Espero que este fin de semana el Cantábrico sea más clemente conmigo y me regale un día hermoso, con visibilidad y mucha vida para poder hacer vídeos que hagan honor a lo bonito que es en realidad.

Aprovecho para recomendaros el centro con el que buceo allí, se llama Buceo Pedreña y no solo tiene unas instalaciones estupendas, sino que hacen que tu día sea muy completo y divertido!



Here you have a video made in Santander last month. I hope you can see the swing of the sea. I really like it, and I find very amusing to see how fishes have some trouble keeping their directions against the rhythm of the sea.

Hopefully, this weekend the Cantabrian Sea will be more lenient and offer me a beautiful day, with visibility and many life to make videos that can honor how nice this sea really is.
